For many years we have operated our one week holidays from the small village of Asté which is in the main Adour valley three kilometres south of Bagnères de Bigorre. This traditional hotel has a friendly and relaxed atmosphere with 21 bedrooms and an excellent restaurant. It is set in spacious grounds by the river Adour on the edge of the small village of Asté which lies 3 kilometres south of the delightful spa town of Bagnères de Bigorre.

The owners, Chantal and Guy Peyseré, and their staff always look after our groups with special care. Guy, who is in charge of the kitchen, is a member of "Les Tables du Lys Bigourdan" a local organization dedicated to culinary excellence. His evening meals always provide the perfect end to a day's walking in the mountains.

Le Soleil Levant, Argelès-Gazost

The hotel Soleil Levant is a family run 2 star hotel with 35 rooms in the pretty town of Argeles Gazost. The hotel’s website is down at the moment whilst it is being updated. We have been working together since 2008 as we extend our range of holidays.

Argeles Gazost is nestled in the foothills of the Pyrénées a few kilometres south of Lourdes. The pretty spa town has plenty of shops, cafés & bars as well as elegant public gardens and several easy local walks. Their rather unimpressive website can be viewed at www.argeles-gazost.com. There is a good bus service down to Lourdes (where there is a main line train station useful for days out to Pau or maybe Biarritz) and buses also run up the valley to Luz St Sauveur (for Gavarnie), Barèges and Cauterets. These buses are particularly useful for members of the group who do not want to join the planned walks every day.

 As at Asté, there is a good mix of walking to be done in the area from valley strolls to high mountain adventures. 

At both hotels all bedrooms have a WC and a shower or bath. The arrangement with the hotel is for half board. This allows group members the option of buying packed lunches or making their own arrangements.

General Itinerary

Day 1. Travel by coach from the airport to the hotel with a stroll in the afternoon if there is time.

Days 2 - 7. Guided walks available every day.

Day 8. Travel by coach to the airport.
